About the Founder

By a twist of fate, I found myself navigating the nonprofit realm as a part-time Executive Director in 2018, a mere four months after relocating without local connections or any prior nonprofit expertise. My foundation was in business—overseeing arenas. Yet, I believed that my business acumen could be pivotal for nonprofits. And indeed, it was. In just a few years, I took an 8-year-old organization with modest revenue and amplified it nearly tenfold, leveraging the principles I had honed in the corporate world. Implementing the key principles I mastered in the corporate sphere. The story? Stepping into a realm unfamiliar with nonprofits, grappling with a fledgling Board of Directors, navigating chaos and inconsistencies, and yet, turning this good organization into a great organization.

My experiences weren't a mere succession of victories. I contended with significant hurdles: the sudden departure of the founder, an unseasoned president at the helm, an absence of fundamental infrastructure ranging from dedicated committees to coherent strategic plans, policies, and procedures, and a Board of Directors that had great hearts but did not know how to get great results. These challenges might have seemed overwhelming, but fortified by innovation and sheer will, I was determined to elevate the organization. This immersive experience was both enlightening and exhausting. But it was this whirlwind of challenges, learnings, and introspection that inspired me to establish Dextrous.

Drawing upon my firsthand experience, coupled with two years of extensive research and feedback, Dextrous.co was birthed. Here, we aim to create a revolutionary tool that echoes my journey and strives to address the core challenges nonprofits face.
